Making the Day of A Survivor Just A Little Easier One Meal At A Time
Faces, Family and Friends of Breast Cancer, an organization that provides dinners for people currently diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing treatment.
I didn't know it at the time, but this project started in 2006 when I visited my best friend while she was fighting her own battle with breast cancer. Before leaving from my visit with her and her family I had prepared meals hoping that this would help them out during some busy and hectic times ahead. I did not know the full extend of this gesture until my own diagnosis in 2008.
During my diagnosis and treatment in 2008 I received many dinners for myself and family. It was a blessing and with this kind gesture, I decided I wanted to share this with others. In order to provide these dinners we take part in various fundraising events throughout the year. We have currently applied to become a formal non-profit organization, and expect approval shortly.
I would like to thank everyone who is a part of this wonderful organization. Without your help and generosity, this project wouldn't be as successful as it is today. I would also like to thank the people who come out and support us throughout the year at our various fundraisers. And most of all I would like to thank the survivors and families that agree to be a part of our largest project the Faces Family & Friends annual calendar.
